Stair Railing Post Placement - Guidance - Tip Sheet

Overview

These directions assist in the proper post placement for installation of Inline Design cable, glass, and bar systems stair posts. We recommend starting with the upper post, then moving to the lower posts, and finally placing the middle posts and adjusting them to align with the top rail.

This document outlines the recommended post placements on stairs for Inline Design cable and glass railing systems. Installing your posts with such placement will ensure proper alignment of handrails to the specified and desired 36” height. 

Caution: Wear protective ANSI-approved Safety Glasses, Safety Gloves, and Protective Mask while installing Stainless Steel Railing systems.
